About this Site

Almost everyone loves to travel and experience new things along the way.   I have seen so many travel features and blogs that seem to highlight international travel and seem to neglect the incredible beauty and diversity found right here in the USA! DSCN0937 I live in the Midwest, but have had the good fortune to travel literally from Maine to California and Alaska.  I have missed so many places in between….so I hope to find them someday. I invite other readers to share about their favorite places to visit in America. Many of my blogs are focused on the National Parks system, but are not exclusive to just that topic. I want to include many travel tips from navigating travel sites, to favorite restaurants. I also like to stress the importance of how anyone’s travel experience can be enhanced by “reading up”on the area you will be visiting: learning not only the local tradition & customs but also the history that shapes the way the area is today.  My hopes are that people can share on this site and help fill in the details when somebody asks: “Hey….Have you ever been to…..?” Travel experiences can truly be enhanced when we share and learn from each other, so I welcome all kinds of comments and conversations on my blog. Looking forward to hearing from you! I end all my posts with “Put your traveling shoes on”…hoping to encourage the travel bug lurking out there. JES
